Mrs. Revenya Mitchell Murray, parent of 2025 Salutatorian Deion Mitchell Murray, shares her family’s joy and gratitude for the life-changing experience GNC provided her son.
Deion entered GNC in the 2024–2025 school year needing specialized academic support and a nurturing environment—and he found exactly that. With the guidance of Ms. Samantha Peterkin, whose patience, knowledge, and care made the enrollment process smooth and reassuring, the family immediately knew they had made the right choice.
What stood out most to Deion and his family was the genuine warmth and community spirit at GNC. Teachers and staff supported him whether he was in their class or not, creating a place where he felt seen, valued, and understood. The school’s personalized approach, including Unity, College Prep, and Regents Prep programs, gave Deion the tools he needed to succeed academically and enjoy learning.
GNC also helped Deion shine beyond the classroom. Through the school’s dedicated athletics staff, he developed his basketball talents and earned the opportunity to play at the collegiate level. Today, he is excited to pursue Exercise Science at SUNY Oneonta.
