REACH Academy Overview

The REACH Academy operates in a highly therapeutic manner specializing in educating students with clinically complex needs. Our program balances supporting both emotional and academic growth in order to assist students in reaching their maximum potential. Although small, the REACH Academy is designed to serve a continuum of students from ungraded Alternately Assessed to students pursuing Regents or Local Diplomas.

Program Description

The REACH Academy is a public school serving both Residential and Day students. The school is located in West Harrison, NY in Westchester County approximately 30 minutes north of New York City. The residential facility is located In Valhalla, NY approximately 4 miles from the school. All students arrive and depart from the school similar to any traditional community school.

Our enrollment is 76 students approximately two thirds Residential and one third Day. The program is very richly staffed to support the clinically complex needs of our students.

      • Departmental classes (bell schedule)

    • Graded High School (Regents/Local Diploma Track)

    • Limited Graded Middle School based on specific clinical need

    • 14 Teachers all NYS certified.

    • Instructional Aides to support 1+2 ratios

    • 1:1 Aides based on IEP mandate
