From the Greenburgh-North Castle Union Free School District

A local Board of Education is an agency of New York State that is governed by State law and the regulations of the Commissioner of Education. The Greenburgh-North Castle Board is composed of seven members who serve specific terms. The Greenburgh-North Castle. District’s Board of Education establishes policy, has the fiscal responsibility to provide a budget and directly hires the superintendent of schools.
