October 28th, 2011
Dear Parents, Guardians, Students and Families:
It is my hope that we have gotten into our school routines once again as we have just completed the first round of progress reports for all students. As the New Guy on campus, I have much to learn and become a part of. It has been very interesting and exciting to meet the KCA school staff, students and the vast number of personnel at the St. Christopher’s Agency.
We experienced an amazing turnout of families for our first Open House, October 12th! Teachers and students were able to showcase the work completed thus far on our hallway bulletin boards. We are off to a great start!
This year we will continue our focus on:
• Using Positive Behavioral Intervention Strategies (PBIS) to define our school culture and interactions with students;
• Building upon our collective and individual strengths as we move forward to a continuous improvement model;
• Provide students with incentives and celebrations that will serve as guiding forces as they work towards being good citizens;
• Developing realistic and targeted School to Work transition plans for all students; and,
• Bringing clarity, to all stakeholders, related to the expectations around the existing Electronics Policy.
Looking forward to a fabulous school year!
Respectfully,
Samuel Rodriguez, PhD
Principal
